A typical mold inspection consists of a visual inspection of the exterior and interior of the building. In addition, a moisture meter can be used to test building components for wetness inside wall cavities or duct work. Upon confirmation of mold we develop a remediation plan detailing the method, scope, time, and controls to be used. SBE will develop specifications for the remediation which will include the following:
1. Inform all parties impacted and determine if they need to be relocated
2. Impacted items need to be removed under negative pressure containment and in such a manner that does not contaminate clean area
3. Items and materials that can be cleaned should be itemized along with the cleaning method
4. Clients Heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC) system needs to be evaluated for impact
5. Upon project completion, visual acceptance and clearance sampling should be performed to ensure areas are safe for re-occupancy
